I read the reviews after booking a 2 night stay at this hotel, and I thought OMG what have I done. We continued with our stay, we stayed in room 21, which is cosy sea view room. The rooms do needmodernising, there was a hole on the lowered ceiling tiles in the bathroom, NO bed bugs, like other reviews said, beds were clean and comfortable, other family members stayed in room 24 and 25, cosy, clean. Need updating as well. The owner of the hotels needs to start a room at a time to modernise. The manager is a lovely man, smiling and on hand to assist. The bar was open to 11. Parking was £10 for the whole weekend. They no longer do breakfast, but there are plenty of places to eat in Blackpool. Would I stay again yes, remember this hotel is a 3 star, you get what you pay for! The hotel was fully booked for the whole weekend.

This hotel has many bad reviews. When we stayed we enjoyed it. The manager went out of his way to help us as I was on crutches. Yes the hotel is a bit tired but for the price what do you expect. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable and clean. We only stayed two nights and our room was clean and had a sea view. We would stay there again no problem.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly, family room was huge(with single beds instead of bunkbeds which was great). The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bed linen smelt lovely and the sea view with the bay window was brilliant. My son loved sitting on the window ledge watching the trams go by and the waves. Its a great location and theres a tram stop across the road.I will definitely be booking again.

Went for a stag do , was standard room , with toilet and shower , can't moan for £25 you pay for what you get. If you just need a bed for the night after the booze it's fine. If you are expecting the Hilton pay for the Hilton.

Nice budget hotel.Lovely friendly staff.Other guest where inconsiderate on Saturday night, banging doors etc around 3/4 in the morning, meaning broken sleep.Plus one guest didn't leave contact details for moving car!

Basic accommodation. Great price for a family room for 5 and great view of the sea. Location is central so a 10 minute walk to the tower. Laine was really helpful with info on things that were happening in Blackpool that we could go to.

When we got there, we noticed no ramp for the pram, carrying it up to the reception area, we then got our room, which was the top floor. The lift is out of order so we had to carry the pram up. This was exhausting and inconvenient. We was told we could leave it downstairs but I’d not like my belongings kept away for too long. The room was a decent size, we had extra pillows, tea and sugar. No milk so I bought my own long life milk since no fridge. There was 2 body towels and 1 hand towel, for 3 guests. The water kept turning off making the cold water unreliable and hot water wasn’t on for the majority of our first night there. There was no hand wash provided so needed a quick essentials shop. The bar was nice, atmosphere and layout really good. Staff was really friendly and accommodated all our needs. They was really nice to my daughter and let us celebrate with a birthday cake in the bar area. There was photos of food on booking website so assumed we could buy breakfast, however it’s not a service they offer.Car park is really tight, we was lucky to get the pram out the door and through the cars. We booked a car space nearby to avoid it.The price was really good for what we got, I can’t really complain.I would visit again, but hopefully get a ground floor room next time.

In Blackpool for a single nights stay in order to attend the Funny Girls 30th Anniversary Show.Lane, our on duty host, was a dynamo. There has been riots in Blackpool on the day of our arrival. Lane was fully informed of the situation, kept us up to date and mead us feel exceptionally safe.Lane was the only person on duty from when we arrived at 5pm till our departure at 11am the next day. Another staff member has sadly called in sick. However, Lane took it in his stride with confidence and a cheeky smile.Rooms are clean and fit for purpose as a good location with on site parking at £10 with only a 10min walk to Funny Girls - we definitely made the right choice for our hotel.Thank you so much Lane - sending love & luck from Liverpool for a future filled with fabulousness.Sal & Neil xxx

Nice welcome and the staff are lovely. Was a bit cold in the rooms, we were told heating on at set times such as 4-6 and 730-930 in morning but it didn’t appear to be on. And my sister and bf had the same issue in their room. It’s fine for the price you pay.

At arriving at the hotel, we were told that there was an issue with the boiler in certain parts of the hotel. The 2 staff members were very accommodating, helpful and efficient in finding us a room with heating.Had a lovely room with a sea view. The only issue was the shower only trickled water and there was no hot water.Overall a great hotel and staff, would book again, only if the shower/hot water problem was fixed.

Although in need of a bit of TLC, the Canasta was OK as a one night stay for the show we were going to. Room was clean and mattresses were comfy and a good night's sleep was had by all. Staff could do with a bit of training in looking Happy 😊 although the chambermaid was cheery enough for the rest.. New blinds are fitted and make the room look good. Sockets for tv and kettle need improving. Spoke to manager regarding a wobbly bed. He wasn't aware but will replace now that he knows about it like a similar one the previous week. The cleaners have been told to check any beds/ furniture which might need replacing. Full marks for starting to bring it up to scratch a bit more.

Stayed for 1 night with my son. The hotel was ideally situated just a couple of tram stops from the tower. We opted for a room with a sea view which my 3 year old loved, we watched a beautiful suunset over the sea.Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was small but adequate. decor was tired but clean. The hotel was quite with a mix of families and adults, the bar area was too hot as the radiators were on, and the bar was poorly stocked.During the night there was a leak from the room above where it seemed the occupamnts had taken a shower and it had run down the wall into our room. As my young son was fast asleep i didn't make a fuss, and next morning there was nobody around to report this to. In fact the adjoining door toi reception was locked and we had to go out through the car park to get back in and leave the keys at reception.3 stars mainly for location. Would i stay again? Unlikely.

We enjoyed our stay at the Canasta hotel. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more welcoming. The room was huge and big enough for our family of 5. Comfy and spotless beds. Decor is dated and needing some tlc however that doesn't reflect on our stay. The breakfast was lovely too.
Reviewer: Donna P | Sun 13th Jun 2021 | 3 years ago
Very friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, great breakfast, bar reasonably priced, parking available,10 min walk to tower etc and bus/tram stops outside hotel.Only negatives would be that the decor is slightly dated and slightly noisy pipe work but that did not effect our stay and the price for the room was very fair. We would stay here again.

Our room was on the top floor. Lift was out of order. Not good for nearly 60 years old climbing 4 floor flights of stairs with luggage . They told us the drey had not arrived so they only had cans of fosters 3.50 each for a60p can .only bought 1 each . Room not very clean. Windows not clean . bathroom had bits of the door on the floor so obviously not been cleaned before we got in . Having said that the staff were friendly and attentive but we won't be staying again. It would neve win four in a bed

Wasn’t happy with this hotel at all. The beer didn’t Taste good like it had been watered down, there was no entertainment even though I was told on the phone there would be, they were running late for breakfast which the food was not it’s best plus with paying over £130 for one night for a family sea view room, the room was dirty with a little window plus no Signal on the TV. Sorry to say but will not be staying her again!!!
Reviewer: Louise M | Sun 6th Sep 2020 | 4 years ago
We recently stayed on a Saturday night with our 2 young children aged 4 and 1. We had a good sized family room with a sea view, tea and coffee facilities in the food, it was clean and tidy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is great sitting right on the beach front and just a short walk out of the nightlife to not be disturbed by late night drinkers! We would definitely recommend the hotel and would look again in the future. The only point I would say is the parking out the front made it hard to get to the hotel with the pram, we had to lift the pram over the cars to get through so maybe a small walkway round the side of the car park would be handy for families. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay, breakfast was also lovely and very reasonably priced! Was a lot easier with young children to eat in the hotel then wander round for a cafe! Overall, pleasant and good value for money.

Hotel was in a great location north of the pier.Host was friendly and helpful.Bed was comfortable and clean. Tea making facilities in the room were a bonus and so was having an en-suite.No breakfast was available but it was there first week or so after lockdown. Free parking though its easy to get blocked in. Excellent value for money.

My son and I last stayed in 2006 (when he was 13) and we had fond memories of a lovely stay. This trip was a walk down memory lane for the Hotel and Blackpool.Neither disappointed. We arrived early and were immediately offered a hot drink and on checking were told our room was ready so able to check in.Seaview twin room was clean and tidy. Small bathroom but did the job. Decent TV and well stocked tea/coffee tray.Breakfast was great and nothing was to much trouble. Long time since I indulged in some fried bread...tasty and crunchy..Breakfast set us up for the day and kept us going till mid afternoon.Ensured we made it back to the hotel each night for a nightcap and was happy with the selection and prices.Checked out but were able to leave our bags at the hotel till later in the day allowing us one last day in Blackpool. Will definitely vist again.

We stayed here for one night on the 19th November. It was very much a last minute booking following a recommendation by a friend. Although very much end of season, we were welcomed with a refreshing pot of tea from our host, who was very helpful. Our room was situated on the second floor and was as expected. A comfortable bed, en suite and practical. It did need a slight spruce up but nothing much else. Our breakfast on the Sunday morning was exceptional. All in all great value for money.

The Canasta is a good value for money hotel situated on the North Shore seafront. Public areas are clean and tidy and the Karaoke and cabaret at week ends are a great bonus, breakfast is good with a varied selection and you can get tea or coffee at any time for free. The rooms are a bit tired with some small repairs needed and some work which wouldn't cost a lot to tidy them up but they are clean and you are only sleeping in them . All things said it is worth a visit and we will certainly return in the future.

Arrived at Canasta Sunday afternoon, staying 3 nights with my wife and 2 good friends in September. We were quickly met by owner and offered free tea or coffee and were shown to our rooms. We were allocated one of the back rooms as wasn't bothered about sea view. Room was clean with small ensuite, television, tea & coffee etc.First night bar stayed open till about 11.30pm as there was a few people in but after Sunday there was only 6 people staying so bar closed early.Best thing about this place has to be the breakfast, served between 9 - 9.45am. Plenty to eat big breakfast plus juice and unlimited tea & coffee. We had a very pleasant stay with no hassle and free parking outside for the car.

Where looking to book our next visit for October. Ps Special mention to Gavin he was lovely recommending drinks from the bar and always there for a chat see u soon gav from the four of us from Hull.

We very much enjoyed our three-night stay at the Canasta. The hotel is conveniently-located and has lovely views over the sea.Staff are friendly and accommodating; we were particularly impressed with the availability of free tea, coffee and orange squash in the lounge during the day.Breakfast was well-cooked and plentiful, and it was good to have until 10am to order it.Our room was quiet and the beds were very comfy indeed.In-room refreshments were topped up every day. This is by far the best-value hotel we have found in Blackpool; we definitely plan to return next year.

Lovely big breakfast. All staff was friendly and prefessional. Nice to be asked if we wanted a tea and coffee when we walked in the hotel. Would stay again if we was to come back to Blackpool again.

6 family members stayed for 1 night in August. All of us enjoyed our stay, all staff members made us feel very welcome and were very friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Free tea and coffee at any time in the sun lounge is a wonderful addition and was greatly appreciated by all , especially my 85 yr old mum. The full English breakfast on offer went down well and kept us full for most of the day.The only negative was other clients smoking right outside the entrance door. As non smokers it was very unpleasantto have to walk through this haze of smoke and they did also block the entrance somewhat. Can I suggest that smokers are made to stand away from the door to keep this exit free.

I have stayed here twice now with my daughter and grandchildren opting for a family room. Location is ideal away from the rowdy crowds with the children. A short walk to the north peir. Tram stop pracically on the door step. Parked the car outside so no worroes there. beds comfy and hotel very clean. prices are very reasonable and it includes breakfast. Last Saturday entertainment on if you wanted to join in, we had room above and it did not disturb us. I highly recomend trying this hotel if looking for a decent place to stay.

Usually when we go away we stop at one of the chain hotels like premier inn, but this time we decided to go for a local hotel and this did not disappoint! Friendly greeting and a cup of tea when we walked in the door, a nice way to start. The room was great, it did say it was small in the description but we didn't realise that it was going to be as small as it was - this wasn't an issue for us but if you like space go for a bigger room. The hotel is in easy walking distance to all the major attractions in the city. The breakfast was superb! The full english filled you up for the day, and the salmon as also fantastic. We didn't get to try the pancakes as it was quiet when we went so they ran a limited breakfast menu.We would defiantly come back again!

We had a lovely weekend, stopping at the canasta hotel. When we arrived, we had a warm greeting and was offered tea and coffee. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are small, but cosy. The breakfast was superb, with excellent waitress service. Tea and coffee is offered all day, free of charge. I would certainly go back to this hotel and recommend to family and friends. The hotel is positioned in a quiet location, away from rowdy bars but not to far to walk into town. Best hotel I have ever stayed in Blackpool.

All windows and doors etc opened and closed properly. Breakfast was nice and the staff didn't mind us being awkward and making our own breakfasts up! Although pancakes and mushrooms were missed! We come every year as a family with about 9 of us, the staff are wonderful and helpful. The breakfast is amazing and they even help you set up and tidy up if you get take away of an evening. They will put karaoke on if there is enough demand which is great and so much fun because staff even have a go every now and again. The showers can be a bit akward to get the temperature right but not that big of a problem. Would recommend this to families of any size.

We have stopped at the Canasta before and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As usual the owners, all the staff and breakfast were excellent but I felt I had to mention our room (31) as it was very tired. Small things like ceiling lampshade askew, no window covering at all in bathroom, curtain in room hanging off due to coming unhooked, the general room decor and the fact that a plastic glass with rubbish was on the landing for the 2 nights we stayed, were to me all things that should have been rectified with a little attention to detail in the housekeeping.I am reluctant to point out these small faults as we did enjoy our stay but I am sure if it were me then I would rather be told then I could rectify them. Finally our findings would certainly not put us off staying at the Canasta when we are in Blackpool again so I hope this feedback is taken in the same spirit as it is given.

Thanks Peter for your honest comments.I think it\'s time we had a refresher course for all the staff.We\'re aware some room need re-decorating but times are hard. The bills keep coming in and it\'s getting harder to keep our heads above water. But we do what we can and if we have a busier year will definitely be re-investing any profit into decorating. In the meantime a refresher course on cleanliness and general sloppiness will be delivered to the staff.I\'m pleased you\'ll be coming back - we definitely appreciate your custom - and singing!:)

Oh cripes.I'm going to whip the staff again.Their pain and humiliation could have been avoided if you had asked us to replace any lights that were not working. They wont be missing this again!:) :)Thanks for your business, Peter. We're so pleased that you'd recommend us.

Made to feel very welcome on arrival and a much needed pot of tea was offered on our arrival. Our room was very comfortable and very spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very polite and helpful.

Absolute tremendous place to stay in every respect, Canasta has a very warm welcoming atmosphere, which is backed up & run by fantastic hosts & their team of very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble & always delivered with a big smile which is something rarely seen in most hotels. Breakfasts were top notch, drink prices at the bar very reasonable with free tea & coffee offered all day. In the words of Arnie - 'I'll be back" !!
